An Exciting Weekend!

Chelsea had a very exciting weekend! My great-grandparents and my grandparents came in from Florida to spend a few days with us. My grandparents have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel also named Winnie, so it was exciting for Chelsea to actually have a peppy dog in the house. Winnie was kind of scared of Chelsea and her fast movement, but she soon got used to it. My great-grandparents really enjoyed her also! On Sunday, February 8 my aunt, uncle, and cousin came in from Charlotte for the day. It was very exciting seeing them. They also brought their dog Toby a black Cocker Spaniel. Toby really liked Chelsea, but Chelsea didn't like his fast movement very much. Of course, Chelsea got all of her shots so she was allowed to interact with all of these dogs. Chelsea also had a play-date with Holly's friend Casey's cavachon Maggie. Maggie didn't pay attention to Chelsea, but it was cute to see them playing together! I'm sure when Chelsea gets a little older they will be best friends!

9 weeks old

Chelsea is now a little over 9 weeks old. She has met many people including my friends, Holly's friends, Matthew's friends, and my parents friends. We have not yet introduced her to any dogs because she hasn't had all of her shots yet, but if anyone wants to come over to my house and see her feel free anytime. When she gets her shots we're allowed to have dogs over also. We have had her for a week now and love her. Sometimes she can be a pain but she's a puppy what are you going to do! We brought Chelsea to Jefferson Elementary to see Mrs. Davis but I think half the staff stopped and looked at her! We didn't mind though! She is very excited to watch the Super Bowl with us! I hope because that's what I'm doing on Sunday! Go Cardinals!!

To The Vet

Yesterday, Chelsea went to the vet! She didn't get any shots, it was just a little check up visit. We took her to Reynolda Veterinary Hospital and her vet was Dr. Eric Taylor. The results were all excellent! Chelsea is a very healthy pup. She weighs 4.5 pounds now! Chelsea didn't get scared or anything, so that is a good thing!!

Snow and Other Stuff

SNOW!!!!!! I was so glad that we were out of school. Chelsea absolutely LOVED the snow. She tried on her winter jacket but didn't like it so much. She kept trying to pull it off, but she looked really cute in it! Everytime we took her out to "do her business" she fell in the snow and rolled around in it and was wet when we brought her back in the house. Sometimes she even tried to eat the snow. I know, I don't blame her for liking it! Today was Chelsea's first day without any of the kids in the house. From what I hear, she was a good dog but puppies will be puppies and you know what that means. Chelsea is still getting used to having another dog in the house. Sometimes she grabs on to my other OLD dog Candy's tail fur and Candy pulls her around the hard wood where Chelsea slides on her stomach behind Candy. I don't even think that Candy really knows what Chelsea is doing. Haha! Today I heard Chelsea bark for the first time! I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. She was barking at my bunny Snickers in his cage. She tends to hang around the rabbit a lot when we let her have run of the house. Chelsea has started puppy chewing "biting" more since she got here. She has gotten at my bookbag, shoes, jackets, socks, dirty clothes, and much more. Basically all the stuff that I "forget" to put away. Some friends are over right now and Chelsea seems to be doing excellent with them! Well, thats all for now...bye!

Day #2

Day 2 was a relaxing, laid back day for Chelsea. She started to get a little more used to her surroundings. Unfortunately, she started chewing more too. She loves shoelaces, mulch, branches, and leaves. Who knew going outside and playing in the bushes could be so exciting?! Chelsea slept through the night again but whimpered in the morning. She doesn't like to be cooped up. Chelsea wants to explore and be adventurous and not be in her crate all the time. She fell asleep on me many times, and I love petting her soft puppy fur. I don't want to go to school and be away from her, but, on the plus side, now I'm never bored at home!! I wonder how Chelsea will do with Mom when us kids are at school!

Exciting Day #1

Chelsea slept well through her first night with her new family! I heard that she whimpered in the morning to get out of her crate, but I wasn't actually awake to witness it. She gobbled up her breakfast because she's a pig, and then it was time to take pictures. I think I took about 41 pictures all throughout the first day. Wow! She used the bathroom twice in my room, but I didn't care. This was the day when Chelsea had the most excitement with a visit by my friend, Lexi, and a visit by Holly's friend, Casey. We all played the whole day with her but when she was napping, we rocked out with Guitar Hero! Chelsea did very well with her housebreaking today. We had many successes outside, but then there are always messes inside. We don't get mad at her because she's a puppy. She was introduced to our rabbit, Snickers, today. They are the same size and the same coloring. Snickers wanted to get as far away from Chelsea as possible. Candy, my other dog, didn't think Chelsea's way of "playing" was very much fun either. That's okay because she gets plenty of attention from us kids. Later in the evening, we had a visit from my friend Rachel and her mom. Chelsea fell asleep on Rachel with her head inside Rachel's jacket. Very cute!! I think that Chelsea had a great first day, and she seems to be a fun, loving, adorable, and energetic little pup!!

Bringing Her Home

We picked up Chelsea, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, on Saturday, January 17. Coming to her new home was a huge adjustment for all of us. We soon learned that she LOVED food and snarfed down her dinner in a minute. She makes little grunting sounds when she eats just like a little pig! For us kids, it was our first time having a puppy so we soon learned that we needed to take her out to do her business waaaaay more often than we expected. That night we had close friends over to visit Chelsea. She loves everybody!! Then it was time to wind down and let everybody get some rest because we knew that the upcoming day was going to be filled with excitement for everybody!!
